Extinguishment of Public Right of Way over the laneway to the rear of Houses No.s 1-21 Nottingham Street, Dublin 1

What we are proposing:

Dublin City Council’s Central Area Office received a request to Extinguish the public right of way over the laneway to the rear of Houses No. 1-21 Nottingham Street, Dublin 1 by residents who back onto the laneway.

The reason given for this proposed extinguishment is due to antisocial behaviour. The rear laneway also borders St. Columba’s National School. The presence of groups engaged in the above-mentioned anti-social behaviour is impacting on the school. People using the rear laneway have, in the past, scaled the wall which bounds the rear laneway and the school. This is a source of concern for parents and school management. These gatherings make it unsafe for residents and children to use the rear access to their properties. The extent of this proposed extinguishment is shown outlined in red on the attached map, Index No. SM 2025-1036.
