What we are proposing:
Dublin City Council’s Housing and Community Department has requested the extinguishment of the public vehicular right of way over the no-through section of Hardwicke Street in Dublin 1. The reason for this proposal is to bring the specified road section into the management of the Department so that an automated vehicular access gate can be made operational at its entrance. The planned gate will limit public vehicular access to the parking area on the street and only residents of Rory O’Connor House and Dermot O’Dwyer House will be entitled to access it. The extent of this proposed extinguishment is shown outlined in red on the map attached below.
