Grow College Green Public Realm Project

Grow College Green is a flagship project to reimagine the historic centre of our capital as a destination for everyone, not only a place to shop, work, gather and celebrate, but also a space to pause, breathe and connect. The new design will prioritise universal accessibility, social inclusion, safety, sustainability, biodiversity and greening.

Project Information
Overview:
The Grow College Green Public Realm Project aims to transform Dublin's historic core by delivering a safe, welcoming and vibrant pedestrian-friendly space at the heart of the city.
The project will restore and enhance the history and heritage of this unique location. The new design will also prioritise universal accessibility, social inclusion, safety, sustainability, biodiversity and greening.
What we are proposing:
The project area extends from South Great George’s Street to Trinity College Dublin including: Dame Street (from Trinity College to the junction at South Great George’s Street), College Green, Church Lane, Suffolk Street, St Andrew’s Street, Trinity Street, Temple Lane South, Crow Street, Cecilia Street, Fownes Street Upper, Cope Street, Anglesea Street and Foster Place.
The project is currently in the preliminary design phase.
Dublin-based Scott Tallon Walker Architects in partnership with OKRA - an urban design and landscape architects from the Netherlands - will lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop the design.

Why we are proposing these changes:
The proposal to remodel College Green and Dame Street is a joint initiative by Dublin City Council and the National Transport Authority. The project will contribute significantly to improving the public realm at the heart of Dublin and will reimagine the area as a dynamic, inviting and world-class public space.
