Grow College Green Public Realm Project

Grow College Green is a flagship project to reimagine the historic centre of our capital as a destination for everyone, not only a place to shop, work, gather and celebrate, but also a space to pause, breathe and connect. The new design will prioritise universal accessibility, social inclusion, safety, sustainability, biodiversity and greening.

Phases
Pre-Planning Design Consultation
Share Your Views on the Pre-Planning Design for Grow College Green
Since mid‑2024, Dublin City Council has engaged widely with local businesses, residents, Disabled Persons Organisations, students, children, and the general public. Since October 2024 we have carried out two rounds of non‑statutory public consultation, received more than 2,800 written submissions and taken part in over 100 in-person stakeholder engagement moments, ranging from walkabouts to public drop in events and one‑to‑one meetings. These meeting, workshops and conversations have guided every stage of the design development.
Feedback has helped shape everything from movement and accessibility to heritage protection, greenery, seating and the overall look and feel of the space. A design developed with the city and for the city. The latest design will continue to refine as we listen, learn and move into the next stage.
View the Pre-Planning Design
The pre-planning design is now available to view (attached below) and hard copies will be available in the Atrium of the Dublin City Council offices.
The consultation materials include drawings, images and supporting information. These materials feature explanations of the proposed layout, images showing the vision for the space, access arrangements and the overall plan for how we want to Grow College Green.
Have Your Say
As the design progresses and moves towards the planning phase in Summer 2026, Dublin City Council wants to continue to hear from you.
This online non-statutory public consultation is now CLOSED (submissions on the pre-planning design were accepted up to midnight on 11 March 2026).
What Happens Next
All submissions received will be carefully reviewed by Dublin City Council and the project design team. Your feedback at this stage will play a vital role in refining the design before it is finalised and submitted for planning permission.
