Kilmore Leisure centre Public Information Session

Plans are progressing to develop a new swimming pool and fitness facility linked to the existing Kilmore Recreation Centre. The new facility will provide a replacement to the Coolock Swimming Pool which closed in December 2024.

The expanded leisure facility will adjoin the existing recreation centre, next door to the Dublin North East Health Centre. This is on the opposite side of the Oscar Traynor Road to the Northside Shopping Centre, where Coolock Pool was located, keeping the facility in the heart of the community.

The Council has engaged a multi-disciplinary design team to progress the development from concept design through the statutory planning process.

Public consultation (Monday 8th to midnight on Monday 29th June 2026)

To help inform the next stage of the design process we are asking local residents, those that work in the area, local stakeholders and previous users of Coolock Swimming Pool for their views on the types of facilities and improvements they would like to see. This is a real opportunity to help shape the range of facilities on offer at the new leisure centre site.

Further information about how to take part in the consultation and a link to the survey can be found at the bottom of this page.
